TodoLiteratura Interviews Elba Pedrosa: “Literature is a never ending source of learning, also a healing bubble to escape the world.”

Elba Pedrosa is a writer from the Canary Islands who lives in misty Galicia, a total opposite from her homeland, and after having studied in Madrid.

Her novel, “Lo que no sabias” (What You Didn’t Know) has been written in Spanish and Galician practically a the same time.  In Galician lands, she works as an actress as well as a trainer for Speech and Creativity in several institutions.

“Lo que no sabías” is an intimate novel, narrated by two voices, a mother and son, where the feminine voice gains a special strength.  In her work, the author shows us the rural Galicia and the problems of emigration, something very common during the “desarrollismo” (second stage of Franco’s regime, 1957-59).  In the interview Elba gives us some clues of what to expect in her new novel and reveals one or two little secrets.
