This report provides a general overview of the Translation and Interpreting industry in the United States, with an emphasis on the Spanish-English language combination.

It illustrates its steady growth over the past twenty years, and identifies three causes for the expansion of this industry, namely (i) a more diverse demographical landscape, (ii) a changing economy and (iii) the enforcement of language access legislation.
