2020 International Children's Book Day

Ever since 1967, every April 2nd—the day the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen was born—the IBBY has been celebrating the International Children's Book Day, aiming to publicize good books for children and young people, ..

while at the same time promoting reading amongst youngsters. Every year, one of the national sections of the IBBY has the opportunity to be the international sponsor of the Children's Book Day. The section selects a writer and a renowned illustrator to represent its country and prepare the message addressed to all children in the world and the poster that will be distributed worldwide to promote the celebration in libraries, schools, bookstores, etc.

This year, it's Slovenia's turn (in 2019, it was Lithuania’s) to spread Peter Svetina's message (under the title “A Hunger for Words”), as illustrated by Damijan Stepan?i?.
