“Delibes”, an exhibition honoring the Spanish writer one hundred years after his birth.

To celebrate the centennial of Miguel Delibes’ birth in 2020, the National Library of Spain, the Miguel Delibes Foundation, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E),..

the General Council of Castile and León, the City Council of Valladolid and the Provincial Council of Valladolid joined efforts to organize the “Delibes” exhibition, conceived to promote one of the most read, beloved, admired, and remember writers, one of the most important names in Spanish literature in the 20th century.

Miguel Delibes (Valladolid, 1920-2010), author of an extensive and famous collection of literary works full of unforgettable titles-La sombra del ciprés es alargada (The Cypress’ Shadow is Long), El camino (The Road), Las ratas (The Rats), Cinco horas con Mario (Five Hours with Mario), Los santos inocentes (The Holy Innocents), El hereje (The Heretic) and others-and with a personal and life path that turned him into an intellectual and moral reference and an example of honesty and commitment.

Throughout his career, he won some of the most important awards in Spanish literature: Nadal Award, Critics Award, National Narrative Award, Prince of Asturias Award, National Spanish Literature Award, Miguel de Cervantes Prize, among others.
