Roser Rahola, founder and president of Editorial Vicens Vives has died at the age of 105.

According to Gremio de Editores de Cataluña (Catalonia Association of Publishers Guilds), Roser Rahola, widow of publisher Jaume Vicens Vives, was the leader of the Spanish publishers and a fore figure of the publishing world.

Rahola was born in 1914, the same year of the start of WWI.  She always worked as an editor.  In 1994 she received the Creu de Sant Jordi Award for developing basic education manuals to teach Catalan culture.

Her son, Pere Vicens, presided over the Gremio de Editores de Cataluña (Catalonia Association of Publishers Guilds), and the Federación de Gremios de Editores de España (Spanish Association of Publishers Guilds). Her younger son, Albert presided the Editorial Chamber in Catalunya.
