“El Alano” by José Zoilo Hernández, First Historical Fiction Prize “Writers with History” from Pozuelo de Alarcón

Writer José Zoilo Hernández, from the Canary Islands, won the First Prize for Historical Fiction from Pozuelo de Alarcón, including a €4,000 endowment for his work “El alano”.

The decision was announced on January 20 after the careful deliberation of the jury, made up by Isabel San Sebastián, Antonio Pérez Henares, Almudena de Arteaga, and Juan Eslava Galán, all of who are authors of historical fiction and who belong to the Writers with History Association, which, together with the Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council, organized this contest.

The award will be presented on the last day of the Second Historical Fiction Week in Pozuelo de Alarcón, which will be held at the MIRA Theater February 3-7. Organized by the Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council and the Writers with History Association, this second week will feature a large group of speakers who will then hold discussions with the attendees.
