The José Lázaro Galdiano 2019 Award for editorial quality was presented yesterday

The José Lázaro Galdiano Award is one of the few awards existing in Spain that are dedicated to assessing the quality of publishing work, and the only one that comes with a cash endowment.

Its recognition rewards the work of publishers who have published books of art or about art, in the broadest sense, in any language during the year prior to the award. The award entails two categories that are endowed with 3,000 Euros each, and aims to recognize quality in the publication of what is mostly broadly defined as art books, and to honor the memory of the Navarrese José Lázaro Galdiano, a renowned intellectual, editor, bibliophile and art collector.

The publisher RM Verlag from Barcelona has been awarded for the work Remembering the Future, a photo book by Ángel Albarrán and Anna Cabrera, under the category of general art books, a broad concept including the following: exhibition catalogs, artist studies, books that collect the work of one or several photographers, essays on any art or scientific discipline, detailed editions of literature books, etc.
