Susan Sarandon is featured in ARS's “Amigos del Español” section this month

The extraordinary actress, committed to her political views and her work in Hollywood, is fascinated with Spain, where she learned Spanish and developed a passion for authors like Neruda and García Márquez. ARS talked with Sarandon about her work and her passion in life.

Her memories about the 70s, her political views, aging in Hollywood, her career and her love for Spain, ares some of the topics Susan Sarandon recently spoke candidly about with ARS.

My kids are very jealous that they don’t have the 70s. Their idea of what happened then, you know, is… is pretty special. And I… I’m happy… Even though that makes me very old, I’m happy that I was part of that. Because it was an empowering time. Even if you know the lashes and the hair was a bit much ultimately,” said the actress about those years.

Sarandon, who speaks five languages, learned Spanish in school. “But later I fell in love with Spain”, she confesses. “I went to Michael Douglas house in Majorca and since then I decided to move there. But I couldn't for my family, so I bought a place there and spend some holidays in Spain. I love it there.”
