Newcomer Elisa Ferrer wins the Tusquets Novel Editors Award 2019

The jury of the XV Tusquets Novel Editors Award 2019, chaired by Almudena Grandes and joined by Antonio Orejudo, Eva Cosculluela, María Tena, winner in the previous invitation,

and, on behalf of the publishing house,

Juan Cerezo, has unanimously agreed to grant the prize to the work Temporada de avispas (Wasp Season) by Elisa Ferrer. According to the jury, Temporada de avispas has won the prize “for telling the story of a young woman who is reunited with her absent father, and sums up a helpless childhood, a sentimental education that is in permanent conflict with her mother and brother, with a very personal voice, very naturally and with effective emotion.” A deceptively simple story, which turns out to be fascinating and deep, complex and perfect.
