The International Historical Novel Contest of Úbeda will make public the first two national authors who will participate in the eighth edition of the event. Julio Alejandre and Emilio Lara are two among many authors who will be announced during the next few weeks.

Julio Alejandre Calviño, finalist for the 2018 Historical Novel of Úbeda Award for his novel Las islas de Poniente, completed studies in Educational Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid and currently works in guidance counseling in Azuaga, province of Badajoz. For more than a decade he lived in Central America, where he worked in the field of development cooperation.
