This growth is mainly due to the strength of the printed book market and the wealth of material offered. Almost all genres have grown: adult fiction by 8.1%, children’s and young adults’ by 6%, and a 3.7% growth was seen in non-fiction sales, among which stand out scientific-technical, sciences and humanities, and general interest. “These figures show that the diversity of the sector makes books the main choice for leisure and also for education and learning”, affirmed Miguel Barrero.
