We chatted to Oche Califa, Institutional and Cultural Manager at Fundación El Libro. Today, at 13:15 in Barcelona, the agreement was signed that will officially make the Catalan city the guest city

at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair. Barcelona takes over from Montevideo, the last guest city, and to find out more about the reasons for the choice and what is expected from it, we chatted with Oche Califa, the Institutional and Cultural Manager of Fundacion El Libro, the Fair’s organizer. The choice of Barcelona as guest city, is based, in Oche Califa’s words, on the fact that “Barcelona is the great metropolis for innovation and progress in the cultural industries. It is especially attractive to the Argentine cultural world; it is certainly a city that many Argentinians hold dear.”
