CEDRO announces automatic anti-digital piracy service

The service will protect books, newspapers, magazines, and manuscripts. Carme Riera, president of CEDRO, announced today at the presentation of the 2019 CEDRO prize,

(which this year goes to journalist Pepa Fernandez), that the organization is to launch, in the coming weeks, a new, free anti-digital piracy service for its members. This service, according to Riera, automatically detects web pages that offer access to illegal copies of books, newspapers, magazines, and manuscripts, and requests the withdrawal of the pirated file. “Our aim is to protect all newly-published work, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year”, assures the writer. As the president of CEDRO affirms, this service, which is based on Smart Protection technology, is necessary because, as the latest piracy data suggest, “for every book sold, three pirate copies are consumed”.
