Clara Sánchez makes a comeback with “The Silent Lover,” a novel full of passion and intrigue set in the heart of Africa.

Isabel, a woman who works for the Codependent Victims Association, receives a very peculiar proposal which goes above her competence:

She must travel to a region of Kenya, Mombasa in order to locate and rescue a young man called Ezequiel, who has been kidnapped by the Humanitarian Order, a cult with things to hide.  Isabel accepts the mission in an effort to redeem the overwhelming guilt she carries since her brother, a victim of another cult, committed suicide without her being able to help him.  Clara Sánchez (Guadalajara, 1955) spent her childhood in Valencia and then established herself in Madrid.  After working in different jobs, she taught at the university and participated in different fields.  In 1989 she published “Precious Stones”, which was followed by others, “Latest News from Paradise” (Alfaguara Book Award 2000), “Presages” (2008), “What Your Name Hides” (Nadal Book Award 2010) which achieved great success in the international market, “Heaven Has Returned,” which won her the Planeta Award in 2013.  Her works, translated into more than twenty languages, has made her one of the most accomplished writers from Spain.
