The bookstore McNally Jackson will host the affair in New York at 4 p.m. with the participation of Madeline Millán, Margarita Larios, Cristina Colmena, Salvador Olguín, Héctor Alves and Nuria Mendoza among other writers.

Escritores por Ciudad Juarez” protests against violence and impunity in Ciudad Juarez. As explained in the movement website, all started January 6th, 2011 with the murder of human rights activist and poet Susana Chavez in Ciudad Juarez. “In her name, and in the name of all the other victims that organized crime has taken (more than nine thousand in Ciudad Juarez since 2007 and more than sixty thousand all over Mexico) in less than six years, we raised our voices against violence and against fear, against murderers and injustice; against those who want to bend our faith in life and our dreams of freedom and peace.”
