The novel In Civitate Regia by Marcelino Santiago Yustres wins the VII Historic Novel Award: City of Úbeda

After much deliberation, the prize was awarded to In Civitate Regia by the author Marcelino Santiago Yustres.

It’s an award that includes the publishing of the novel in the Historic Collection of Ediciones Pàmies, along with a 10,000€ cash prize. Marcelino Santiago Yustres is originally from Corral de Almaguer (Toledo), though he is now based in Ciudad Real. He has a degree in geography and history, specializing in medieval history, from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1987. In 1996 he completed a PhD in history, and has published investigative articles on medieval history. He is a civil servant in the technical field at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, and he is currently destined for the rectorship of that university’s campus in Ciudad Real.  The prize will be awarded to the winner during the VII edition of the contest, and the work will be published at the beginning of 2019.
