The prize consists of two categories: The Kirico Prize for the best children's book by a Spanish author and the Kirico Prize for the best children's book of a translated work.
El libro de Gloria Fuertes para Niños y Niñas. Verses, stories, and life, edited by Jorge de Cascante and illustrated by Marta Altés, has been announced by the booksellers of the Kirico Bookshop Club as the 2018 Kirico Prize Book in the Spanish author category. On the other hand, Doctor De Soto by William Steig, translated by Jorge de Cascante, won this award in the category of translated work.
