“Sur” (“South”) by Antonio Soler Wins Narrative Fiction Prize

Antonio Soler has published a new novel, “Sur” (“South”), which has won the first Premio de Narrativa Alcobendas Juan Goytisolo (“‘Juan Goytisolo’ Alcobendas Narrative Fiction Award”).

“Sur” is a daring novel which that combines stylistic elements and various levels of narrative against the backdrop of a social reality that is as absorbing as it is shocking. Soler’s writing never wavers from excellent. Antonio Soler launched receives the Premio Juan Goytisolo with for a novel that is as risky as it is accomplished. The jury panel of the competition was headed by Mercedes Monmany and consisted of Juan Cruz, Juan Antonio Masoliver Ródenas, Luis Mateo Díez, José María Pozuelo Yvancos, Antonio Lucas and Juan Eduardo Benavides, with Diego Doncel as coordinator. They voted unanimously to award the Malagenian Málaga nativeauthor first prize “‘for his brilliant writing and ability to convert a complex history story into a work of art through powerful use of language”’.
