Cuba, Guest of Honor at Liber 2018. The Caribbean island will present its current publishing production to make its way into foreign markets.

Cuba will be the guest of honor at the upcoming edition of Liber’s International Book Fair, organized by Fira of Barcelona and promoted by the Spanish Association of Publishers Guilds (FGEE), .....

which will take place October 3rd to the 5th at the Gran Vía venue. Cuba will have a central exhibit within the fair to show the richness and variety of its literature, the evolution of its publishing system, as well as the results of the work developed in the last years in the fields of marketing and promotion of books and lecture – all this through a high-quality catalog, both in topics and authors. A selection of writers, poets, artists, literary agents, and publishers from the island will travel to Liber, accompanied by representatives of the Cuban Book Institute, the Cuban Chamber of Books, and the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Spain, all being committed institutions allowing the participation in the event to be a success. Cuba’s presence as Guest of Honor implies a unique opportunity to get to know Cuban literature and its current publishing production first-hand, to strike up commercial or collaboration agreements, and to strengthen cultural ties with the island. In this sense, the buyers and prescribers directly invited by Liber, as well as the exhibitors and visitors who wish to, may keep an agenda of interviews with the Cuban delegation.
