The CEDRO blog: The journeys of the Spanish book

International book fairs are a very important occasion to promote national editions and authors, discover new trends and promote synergies between different countries. This year, Spanish books will travel to Europe and America.

The director of the Federation of Publishers Guilds of Spain (FGEE), Antonio María Ávila, explains that for the publishing sector of our country, the book fairs are important, first commercially and second culturally: "When they are open to the public, they are a way to spread our literature and our authors.” During 2018, the FGEE plans to promote the Spanish industry in Italy, Germany, Argentina, Peru and Mexico. According to Ávila, «all the fairs we are going to, which are perfectly thought through, aim to consolidate our commercial relations while opening new markets, both in the country where they are held and in neighboring countries or with professional companies from all over the world." He also clarifies that "today, fairs, as always, are essential to do business."
