June 23rd is El Día E, a celebration of the Spanish language

For one day, and thanks to the initiative of the Instituto Cervantes, there will be a celebration of the Spanish language and culture around the world.

This Saturday June 23rd is E Day, Instituto Cervantes will be celebrating the Spanish language and culture around the world. From Sidney to Brasilia, in all the world were it is present, the institute will open its doors and will be hosting cultural events, “the party of all the Spanish speakers.”

El Día E was first held in 2009. “It was born as a Instituto Cervantes' project to celebrate its coming of age and also to promote the culture of the Spanish language in all the continents”, says the institute's web page.
