Also winning an award is “El viaje” (The journey) by Italian author Francesca Sanna, for best translated work. The awards have been given by nearly one hundred bookstores that belong to the Kirico Club of the Spanish Confederation of Booksellers (Cegal), a project aimed at encouraging reading among children and young adults.

The objective of the Kirico Book Prize is to recognize the merit of  children's books  ( 6 to 8 years old) that combine illustrations and texts.
