Roberto Bolaño’s letters in the BNE

The BNE acquires manuscripts pieces by Roberto Bolaño. The National Library of Spain has acquired an important epistolary consisting of 44 original letters, 18 postcards and 3 handwritten autograph pieces by Roberto Bolaño.

The documents were preserved in the archives of his friend, the poet Bruno Montané Krebs, with whom he corresponded between 1976 and 1997.

In the handwritten and typed letters addressed to Montané, Bolaño comments on possible publications of his work, talks about editorials, writers, visits received, literary contests, opinions on texts by other authors, how he carries his novels ... and other matters as intimate as those that have to do with his residential situation, his friendships or his health. Many of these cards are preserved with a large number of envelopes that ensure the origin and destination of the letters.
