Q: Do you speak Spanish?

A: Little, almost nothing. I can say hello and thanks

Q: Have you read Spanish authors?

A: Yes. I’m a fan of Lorca. I read all his books. I like to read theater and the plays that Lorca wrote have a unique texture, intensity. I love Lorca dramas. He is my favorite Spanish author

Q: Can you talk a little about your partnership with Fernando Meirelles?

A: I would do anything for Fernando if he asked me cause he’s one of my favorite people in the world and I had such a good experience with him on that film and that’s a very small part it only took me four or five days to film ,  it’s a big film and I did it to work with him .

Q:  What kind of role would you like to play that you haven’t done yet?

A: So many I don’t know where to begin. I would like to do new writing something I haven’t yet read so I’m waiting for someone to write a really great new play.

Q:  Are  you  fearless as an actress?

A: Yeah, I am fearless, but to be fearless about being emotional there’s not a big downside to it, I mean there’s a downside to falling off a bike going at high speed.  It’s like a different thing.

Q:  Can we talk about Burberry, what is the relationship with them, what do you do for them?

A: I really like Burberry, it’s a really old, distinguished jewelry house, I think it’s like 150 years making jewelry, and they are master jewelry makers, I love their stuff from the 50s and 60s which they are re-releasing.

Q:  So how did this happen?  Did you approach them, they approach you?

A: They approached me.

Q:  What do you have to do for them?

A: I just did a photoshoot for them, which will be out soon,  and is a really beautiful campaign.

Q:  I saw something when I was in Rome a couple of weeks ago, was that it?

A: It was for Bulgari, but for their fragrance.

A: I have one signature dish which is a Shrimp Stir Fry,   with chilis  and garlic and cilantro, and rice noodles.

Q:  Do you have great survival instincts?

A: I hope so, they’ve never really been put to the test in my little life, no bad guys have come after me, touch wood.

Q:  Where is home now?

A: I live in New York.  I have a place in London but my son is going to school in New York, so that’s where I’m living.

Q:  But what feels like home, being an actress from England, your heart is in England probably and your work is in America.  Am I right?

A: Well, I worked in two film projects in England last year, so I don’t know, I’m always visiting England, so I have family and friends there and my home is in New York .

A: I’m not really a football person, pubs, yeah, I miss the parks actually, the little parks in London, the Regents Park and Hyde Park is a really beautiful park.

Q:  Is there a difference in attitude when you walk the streets of New York or the streets in London or LA?

A: Well people don’t walk very much in Los Angeles, (laughter) but yeah, it’s even different, New York, Manhattan is very tense.

Q: As an artist you have to find balance in life?

A: how do you know I’m balanced? It’s a struggle to be a mother. But for every single working mother in the world it's complicated and difficult. I feel like I'm one of the many working mothers. And I only have one child. I know working mums who have three or four. It's definitely a challenge but it's a wonderful challenge to be able to do both.

Q: What moves you to go to work?

A:  I would say passion
